Pair Of Broncos Take Home Eastern Conference Awards
Swift Current Broncos’ forwards Cody Eakin and Adam Lowry were recognized with Eastern Conference Awards.
Cody Eakin, 18 years old, from Winnipeg has earned a 2nd Team Eastern Conference All-Star nod. Eakin finished 9th in WHL scoring with 91 points and 4th in goals with 47. John Negrin took home 2nd Team All-Star honors last season for the Broncos.
Adam Lowry, from Calgary, has been named the Eastern Conference Scholastic Player of the Year. Lowry is in his rookie season with the Broncos as a 16 year old and has 34 points in 61 games. Ashley Buckberger was the last Bronco player to win the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year in 1992. Adam had a 92.2% average this year at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School.
The WHL Player of the Year finalists will be announced on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010.
