Broncos Acquire Jake Hobson from Portland

Swift Current, SK – In the winding hours of the 2017 WHL Trade Deadline, the Broncos added depth to their blue line by sending a 2018 fifth round pick in the WHL Bantam Draft to the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for 1999-born defenceman Jake Hobson.

A native of Prince Albert, SK, Hobson is currently in his rookie season in the WHL, having recorded an assist and eight penalty minutes in 18 contests with the Winterhawks. Hobson will provide additional depth to the Broncos defensive unit.

The 5-11, 193 lb defenceman was drafted by the Portland Winterhawks in the third round, 65th overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Swift Current Broncos return to action on Wednesday, January 11th as they get set to host the visiting Kootenay ICE at the Credit Union i-Plex. Puck drop is at 7:00pm CST.
