Swift Current, SK –  The Swift Current Broncos announced Monday that the New Jersey Devils have signed Broncos’ defenceman Colby Sissons to a three-year entry-level contract.

“It’s a thing you work for as a kid and I’m now one step closer,” said Sissons. “My mindset remains the same after hearing the news. I want to be successful this year and we got a great group of guys. Got to take it day-by-day.”

The 18-year-old native of Edmonton, AB attended New Jersey Devils Training Camp as an amateur tryout and suited up for the Devils in one preseason game. He also played for the Devils at the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, NY. Sissons skated in 71 games for the Broncos last season, netting three goals and 19 assists for 22 points.

Sissons has amassed 24 points (4 goals, 20 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 74 career games with the Broncos.
