Broncos Defeat Raiders

Graham Black's three-point effort (2G,1A) led the Swift Current Broncos to a big 6-3 win over the Prince Albert Raiders at the Credit Union iPlex on Saturday night infront of a crowd of 2,305.

A quick set of back-to-back singles within an 11 second span early into the contest from Justin Maylan and Mark McNeill would give the Raiders a 2-0 lead.  Graham Black would cut into the Raiders lead midway through the opening frame with his 15th of the season to put the Broncos within one.

Anthony Bardaro would revive the Raiders two-goal lead 11 minutes into the second frame.  But, minutes later Black would be credited with a penalty shot where he would shoot past netminder Luke Lee-Knight and make it a 3-2 game after 40 minutes of play.

Minutes into the final frame Levi Bews would lock the contest up at one with his 10th of the season followed by singles from Ryon Moser and Taylor Vause before the midway mark of the period to give the Broncos a 5-3 lead over the Raiders.  Prince Albert would pull Lee-Knight for the additional man with just over 30 seconds left to play, but Coda Gordon would round up the empty-netter to seal the deal and make it a 6-3 final.

The Broncos were outshot 37-36 and went 0/5 on the man advantage.

UP NEXT:  The Broncos welcome the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, March 16th.  Then, they travel to Saskatoon to take on the Blades in the second half of their home-and-home series.

BRONCO BANTER: 

Graham Black had a three-point night which would mark his 10th multi-point game of the season.  He has also recorded eight points (2G,6A) in his last three games.

Ryon Moser had a two-point night (1G,1A) which would mark his seventh multi-point game of the season.  He has also recorded six points (3G,3A) in his last three games.

With the goal Taylor Vause has now reached the 80 point mark this season.
