Broncos Release 2016-17 Regular Season Schedule

SWIFT CURRENT, SK – The Western Hockey League has unveiled the 2016-17 regular season schedule. The Swift Current Broncos will begin their 50th Season on home ice when they host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, September 23rd at 7:00pm.

The Broncos will see the defending WHL Champion Brandon Wheat Kings early on with a Sunday afternoon match-up on the road against their East Division rivals on October 2nd.

The team will take their West Division trip early on this season beginning with the Kelowna Rockets on October 15th before wrapping up the five-game swing with the Vancouver Giants on October 22nd.

Swift Current will host the five US Division Clubs this season including the Western Conference Champion Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday, October 28th at 7:00pm.

The Broncos will have two homestands of four games in length this season ranging from October 28th – November 4th and January 3rd – January 11th.

Furthermore, the Broncos will host the Kootenay ICE at 2:00pm on Monday, October 10th as one of two WHL match-ups on Thanksgiving.

The Broncos home schedule is comprised of 24 weekend matinees including 10 Friday games, 11 Saturday games, and three Sunday afternoon affairs. Six home games are scheduled for Tuesday and five more are slated for Wednesday evenings.
