Swift Current, SK: Swift Current Broncos goaltender Joel Hofer was selected in the fourth round, 107th overall by the St. Louis Blues at the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas, Texas on Saturday.

Hofer enjoyed a productive rookie campaign for the Swift Current Broncos during the 2017-18 season. The 18-year-old netminder posted an 8-3-1-1 record to go along with a 2.61 goals against average and a .914 save percentage with one shutout in 19 appearances.

A product of Winnipeg, MB, Hofer made the Broncos squad out of training camp and won a WHL Championship this season. The 6’3”, 157lb goaltender was also listed as the top-ranked WHL goaltender by NHL Central Scouting in their final rankings mentioned in April.

Hofer becomes the second Swift Current Broncos player to be drafted by the St. Louis Blues, joining Glenn Gawdin (2015) who like Hofer was also a fourth round draft pick.
