TRADE: Broncos Acquire Kole Gable from Edmonton

Swift Current, SK: The Swift Current Broncos have acquired 18-year old, 1998 born forward Kole Gable from the Edmonton Oil Kings. Going back to Edmonton is a conditional 7th round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

In Gable’s first WHL season last year, he played 53 games with the Oil Kings scoring six goals and adding five assists along with 30 penalty minutes. Gable has one goal in eight games this season.  The 5’10, 171 pound forward was the Oil Kings 9th round selection in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. In 2014-15, the Fort McMurray product had 22 goals and 22 assists in 34 midget AAA games with Fort Saskatchewan of the AMHL

“He brings speed and skill. He’s scored at every level he’s played at. We’re very happy and excited to add him to our roster,” said Broncos Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Manny Viveiros. “We have injuries and a stretch of games against divisional rivals. We can’t afford to be short any bodies. We’re really ecstatic that we have a young man here who could be a two-and-a-half year player that we didn’t have to give up any players or prospects for.” added Viveiros.

The Broncos next game is at home against the Brandon Wheat Kings this Saturday.
