Clark Blanks Former Team
Morgan Clark back-stopped the Swift Current Broncos to their first shutout of the season with a convincing 6-0 win over the Red Deer Rebels.
Offensively the team was led by Justin Dowling's hat trick en route to the team's largest margin of victory this season.
There was no scoring until Michael Stickland's 16th of the season midway through the 2nd period. That goal opened the floodgates for a 4 goal second period for the Broncos as Cody Eakin scored his 38th, Dillon Wagner his 15th and Dowling got his first of the game. In the third period, Dowling would add 2 more for a total of 25 goals on the season.
Dillon Wagner, Kyle Verdino, Michael Stickland and Cody Eakin all had 2 point nights for Swift Current, who broke their 6 game losing streak at home. The Broncos were 1-4 on the power-play while the Rebels were 0-4. Swift Current gains a valuable 2 points in the standings moving to 28-25-0-2 on the season. Next up is the Calgary Hitmen who are in town for the second time in a week, on Tuesday.
