Broncos add goaltender, defenceman in 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft

Swift Current, Sask. – The 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft was held Wednesday morning with the Swift Current Broncos holding the fourth and 30th overall selections. The team drafted goaltender Aiden Eskit and Dominic Deibert with those picks.
Eskit, from Calgary, Alta., played for the Yale Hockey Academy U15 program in 2022-23, posting a 11-5-1 record with a .914 save percentage and a 2.43 goals against average in 17 games. Eskit was named a finalist for the CSSHL U15 Division’s Goaltender of the Year.
At the prestigious U15 event, the John Reid Bantam tournament, Eskit went 3-1 with a .939 save percentage and 1.96 goals against average in four games. His older brother, Ethan, is a goaltending prospect for the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Deibert, from Fargo, North Dakota, already stands at a towering 6’3’’ having just turned 15 in late January. Deibert appeared in nine games split between the U14 and U15 levels in 2022-23, scoring once and adding an assist.
The Broncos would like to welcome Aiden, Dominic and their families to the Broncos organization.
