Broncos add pre-season game in Estevan against Regina September 13

Ed Fonger

Swift Current, Sask. – The Swift Current Broncos announced today that they will play an additional pre-season game on September 13 against the Regina Pats at Affinity Place in Estevan. The added game brings the Broncos pre-season total up to five.

The game marks the first time the Broncos will play at a neutral site for a pre-season game since September 4, 2019 when they travelled to Irvine, Alta. to play the Medicine Hat Tigers.

“We’re excited for the unique opportunity to play in a market like Estevan,” said Broncos general manager Chad Leslie. “The people of Estevan have a long history of supporting junior hockey, and we’re thrilled to showcase our league and organization to them.”

Affinity Place is the home of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Estevan Bruins, and seats 2,650 for hockey games.

Swift Current’s other four pre-season games are two home-and-home sets, first with the Moose Jaw Warriors September 9 and 10, beginning in Moose Jaw. The Broncos pre-season schedule wraps up the following weekend against the Medicine Hat Tigers beginning September 16 at the InnovationPlex.
