Clark Caswell, Josh Fluker invited to World U17 camp in Calgary

Swift Current, Sask. – Hockey Canada released their roster for the World U17 Hockey Challenge camp this morning, and Broncos prospects Clark Caswell and Josh Fluker will be in attendance.

The camp will run from July 10 to 16 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, with the event being held from November 5 to 12 in Langley and Delta, B.C. One hundred players were invited to the camp, 10 goalies, 30 defenceman and 60 forwards, with 66 of them being named to the final rosters for Team Canada Black, White and Red.

Caswell, from Brandon, Man., was drafted by the Broncos sixth overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft and had a sensational 2021-22 season. Suiting up for his hometown U18 Wheat Kings, Caswell racked up 88 points (35-53-88) in just 38 games to finish second in league scoring. He then added 17 points (9-8-17) in 11 playoff games, helping the Wheat Kings to a deciding game five of the league final against the Winnipeg Wild.

He played three games for the Broncos as an affiliate player last season, picking up his first career point against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on January 22.

Fluker, from Boissevain, Man., was drafted immediately after Caswell at seventh overall. The smooth skating right-shot defenceman picked up 20 points (6-14-20) in 38 games with the Southwest Cougars, while also suiting up for 10 games with the Broncos.

Fluker thoroughly impressed in his first audition with the team, not only picking up five assists, but also shouldering heavy minutes as an underaged player.
